Grand OFF For Marcel Łoziński

An eminent Polish film director, Marcel Łoziński, has been honored with a valuable Grand Off Award. Studio Filmowe Kalejdoskop (Film Studio Kaleidoscope) has produced many documentaries made by this famous director.

 

The Grand Off Award was given to Marcel Łoziński for his Work of Life. In the end of November, The Cinema Art Foundation, an organizer of the World Independent Film Awards Festival, organized a special screening of the films directed by the laureate.
An Academy Award (Oscar) nominated “89 mm to Europe” and “Anything Can Happen”, both produced by Kalejdoskop, were shown in the Luna Theater.

THE RECONCILIATION (ZGODA) at cinemas now

Beginning of 1945, Upper Silesia, Poland. The last days of WW2. At the just liberated areas, the Communist Security Service eliminates its enemies under the pretext of punishing “national traitors.” It organizes a labour camp for Germans, Silesians and Poles, at the site of a former Nazi concentration camp, which is named “Zgoda” / “Reconciliation”. Franek, who is in love with a Polish prisoner Anna, joins the camp crew to rescue her. He doesn't know that one of the inmates is Erwin, his German friend, who, like himself, has also loved Anna for a long time. Franek joins Communists in the illusory hope of outsmarting the system.
